Jerry Hoffer

Mr. Hoffer has been a practicing attorney since 1991. Divorce and family law make up the bulk of his caseload. After working with several other attorneys following law school, Mr. Hoffer opened his own office on North Ocoee Street in the spring of 1996.



In over thirty-five years of practice, Mr. Hoffer has handled thousands of divorce, custody, child support, and juvenile matters. He has also tried numerous civil and criminal jury trials, representing clients facing a wide range of charges including rape, murder, attempted murder, possession of controlled substances, and driving under the influence. He has appeared before the Tennessee Court of Appeals and has maintained membership in the Bradley County Bar Association since 1991, serving as its President in 2015–2016. Mr. Hoffer is also a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Chattanooga Bar Association, and a past member of the Bradley County Chamber of Commerce. In the past he served on the Board of Southeast Tennessee Community Corrections.

In 2001, the Tennessee Supreme Court certified Mr. Hoffer as a Rule 31 Family Mediator. Since then, scores of attorneys and individuals from Bradley, Hamilton, Meigs, Knox, McMinn, and Rhea Counties have engaged him to mediate divorce, custody, and other family law disputes.



Mr. Hoffer is married to Lisa, and together they raised four daughters, three of whom are now married. Jerry is the proud “Grandude” to six grandchildren, with whom he and Lisa treasure every moment. In his free time, Mr. Hoffer enjoys spending time with his wife, children, their spouses, and grandchildren, as well as reading, traveling, and exercising.
